Cargo bikes

Cargo Bikes are experiencing impressive market growth and are heavily promoted by governments worldwide. They promise to replace cars in inner cities, ranging from private cars to delivery vans.

But the utility aspects and weight of these bikes demand for different components and maintenance approaches. Is there a new industry evolving around these vehicles or can the bicycle players of today cater to this market well enough? What are the trends, which customer group and use case is going to be large? What about Footprint of these Vehicles in tight urban areas?

Are trailers an alternative to Cargo Bikes? And what about autonomous trailers for bicycles, will that be a thing?

My experience ranges from using my own Cargo Bike with my Kids, to distributing Cargo Bikes in Switzerland and leading the Product Management for a 2-Wheel and 3-Wheel Cargo Bike. I believe there is great potential in this field, but also know about the challenges in the market. Let’s talk.
