Bicycle drivetrains

Ever since I kept destroying my bikes as a teenager, I was eager to find solutions that would “just work” and not break so easily. Call me stubborn, but that search has shaped my career over the last 30 years and led to market innovation. I embraced internal gear hubs and was one of the first to implement the Gates Belt Drive System onto my bikes. I also built frames that would protect the chain and provide a reliable drivetrain for bike sharing.

Nowadays, with the ever more professional use of bikes and e-bikes, awareness for total cost of ownership (TCO) is on the rise and new products are hitting the market that can provide a very reliable bike drivetrain with far less maintenance and an optimised TCO.

Where is the sweet spot for your product in terms of BOM price, performance, market acceptance and TCO? Which products and market players are in the market to stay? If you develop a drivetrain, are you competitive? What are unique selling points (USP) the market is looking for?
